As of September 2025, Japan has joined a growing list of countries—Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, Poland, and the UAE—that are experiencing a tourism boom, thanks to the United States’ new visa-free access to One Hundred Eighty Two nations. This monumental shift in global travel is fueling an unprecedented surge in international tourism. The reasons for this tourism boom are multifaceted: American travelers now have the freedom to explore diverse cultures and world-famous landmarks without the hassle of visas. Destinations like Japan are seeing an influx of visitors eager to experience its rich history, technology-driven cities, and scenic landscapes. Meanwhile, countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE are capitalizing on their burgeoning tourist infrastructures, while Italy, Germany, and Poland are seeing more travelers flock to their iconic art, architecture, and heritage sites. The newfound mobility is not only boosting the tourism industry but also driving economic growth in these countries, as they become more accessible to a larger number of global visitors.
In 2025, the United States’ GDP is expected to range between $27.7 trillion and $28.2 trillion at current prices, though projections vary. Trading Economics anticipates a figure of $28.978 trillion, the IMF expects $30.51 trillion, and World Economics estimates $27.615 trillion in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Meanwhile, the growth rate for real GDP is also subject to differing forecasts. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported a 3.0% annual growth rate for the second quarter, while the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s GDPNow model estimates 2.4%, and the Federal Reserve’s June outlook predicts a more conservative 1.4% growth for the year.
