The incident comes after a man died following reports of a group of people taking unwell in Glasgow city centre on Monday, September 8.

Emergency crews raced to Cambridge Street in the city after an alarm was raised when a group of people reportedly took unwell.

Police Scotland officers cordoned off the road and upon attendance a 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ambulance staff treated a 38-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man in the area, while a 37-year-old man was also rushed to hospital – where he remains in a stable condition.

It is understood that the death is being treated as drugs related as Police Scotland continue their investigation. The death is not believed to be suspicious.

There is nothing to suggest that this is being linked to the incident on Cresswell Street at this stage.
