Football legends from across the world will come together for an historic match in South Korea this weekend. Gareth Bale, Kaka and Ronaldinho are just a few of the iconic names who will descend upon Seoul for Nexon’s Icon Match.
The two teams are called Shield United and FC Spear, with Wales icon Bale turning out for FC Spear.
As well as a collection of the world’s greatest ever footballers, Arsene Wenger and Rafael Benitez will be at the helm for either side. Arsenal legend Wenger takes the reins at FC Spear, while Miracle of Istanbul orchestrator Benitez will be in control of Shield United.
Nexon, for those unfamiliar, is a South Korean video game company that is responsible for publishing EA FC in the country.
One of the most popular elements of EA FC, formerly known as FIFA, is using the ‘Icon’ cards available in-game.
Users get the opportunity to play the game with their favourite legends of the game from years gone by.
However, the Icons Match brings this concept to life.
Here is everything you need to know about the weekend’s events.
Start time
Nexon Icons Match will kick-off at 11.30am UK time on Sunday, September 14 in Seoul.
The first day of the event, Saturday, September 13, will involve the stars taking part in numerous challenges ahead of their game the following day.

Nexon Icons Match is being shown live on EA Sports FC Mobile’s in-game broadcast channel and on EA Sports FC’s YouTube channel.
