Emergency services searched two docks in Liverpool last night after reports of a person in the water. At 9.39pm, HM Coastguard was called to an incident at Brunswick Dock. Crosby and Wirral Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent, alongside Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).

According to a spokesperson for the fire service, crews were alerted at 9.41pm and on scene at 9.45pm, with two fire engines and the search and rescue team in attendance.

When they arrived, they discovered that the person had moved to the Albert Dock, where crews relocated.

Once they got there, they found one person out of the water, conscious and breathing, suffering from hypothermia.

Fire fighters and police officers worked to assist the person with foil blankets before the arrival of NWAS paramedics.

Paramedics them and administered oxygen before they were taken to hospital for further assessment.

Fire crews left the scene at 10.25pm. The incident concluded at 10.48pm.
