People got up at 3am and waited for hours to get a first glimpse inside Liverpool’s latest clothes shop. ARNE opened its doors on Peter’s Lane in Liverpool ONE this morning, with queues stretching from the store all the way down to the Nespresso Boutique at the other end of the street.

Founded in 2018 by brothers Ryan and Reece Broadhurst, the brand has established a loyal customer base. This is in part due to the company’s offerings, which are said to be “high-quality, simple and minimalistic pieces for every occasion.”

Well-known fans of the ARNE include Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville. The ECHO went to Peter’s Lane this morning to hear from those excited to see the brand’s first ever physical shop.

Fallon Southwell, 41, was at the front of the queue with her husband Lee. The couple woke up at 3am this morning and travelled all the way from Rochdale to Liverpool for the opening.

Speaking to the ECHO, Fallon said: “My other half in particular massively loves ARNE. He shops online all the time and we’ve been to their pop-ups.

“When we saw they were opening a store and that you could come down, we were like, we need to be one of the first there and experience it all.”

Asked why they like the brand so much, Fallon added: “We think it’s really sleek clothing, really affordable, but really good quality as well.”

They had their eye on picking up some trainers and possibly a jacket and tracksuit before “going back home to bed”.

Others had incorporated a visit to the store as part of their weekend trip to Liverpool. Alex Parish, 36, had been in the queue for an hour. He had come to the city with a friend from Hull. Speaking about making the 130 mile journey, Alex said: “We are staying for the weekend and this was opening, so we came here this morning.

“We’re big fans of ARNE. We’ve always ordered online and this is the first shop they’ve had. I thought the queue would be bigger actually. I like the fit of their clothes, I don’t wear much else. The jeans and everything else are perfect.”

Alex Dyer, 21, from Nottingham, had been waiting for around 20 minutes and also arrived in the city last night. He said: “I just like the brand. I want to get in and see what they’ve got. I like the fitting and the clothing. It’s good quality stuff.”

After a short delay, staff began letting customers in at 9.13am. The ECHO spoke to Tom Bowers, 21, from Walton, on his way out.

Tom had bought cargo pants and a plain white t-shirt which came to £80. He was given a free goody bag too, which contained a voucher, a book and footwear wipes.

He said: “The stuff I’ve got is brilliant. I’ve been here since 6am, so it was an early morning. I’m going to go home now, go to bed and catch up on some sleep.

“The store smells like new when you go in there. It’s just a really nice brand. It’s good quality stuff and not too expensive. I’ve got two items for £80, whereas with other brands, you’d be paying a lot more. “

Reece Jones, 28, from West Derby, paid £160 for a variety of items for him and his partner, including several t-shirts. He said: “I got here at 6.30am I think.

“ARNE is all good stuff, I wear it almost every day. You can dress up and dress down with it. The shop is all dead clean and minimal, which is what I like.”
