Bristol Rovers v Worthing
FA Women’s National League, The Sussex Transport Community Stadium, Sunday 14th September, 2:00pm.

Bristol Rovers Women will make the trip to the South-East coast to play Worthing this weekend, at The Sussex Transport Community Stadium.

For the fourth consecutive week, The Gas Girls have kept their opponents out, whilst adding two more goals last week to take their season’s tally to seven. Last Sunday’s result secured another three points against Marine Academy Plymouth and extended their strong start to the campaign.

After bagging her first goal for the club against Bournemouth Sports the previous week, Laura Barrett felt it marked the moment when the team would really “start hitting the ground running.”

The Defender remained confident that the Gas Girls “will keep this momentum,” and she backed it up by going on to score her second of the season against MAP on the weekend, once again highlighting the team’s strength at both ends of the pitch. Assistant manager Chris Douglas credits this not to tactical changes but more as a reflection of some “impressive good training over the last few weeks.”

Looking ahead to Sunday, last week’s Player of the Match Thierry-Jo Gauvain has a clear plan of action: take that hard work from training and turn it into goals.
