The Daily Mail recently reported that Royal biographer Tina Brown has boldly claimed that King Charles “is currently less irritated” with Prince Harry than Prince William.

Brown Says The Palace Wants William To Assume A More Active Role In His Royal Duties

Brown says that the King is frustrated with William’s light schedule, as the heir to the throne can’t afford to miss royal engagements anymore.

According to reports, the Palace wants William to take on a more active rolein his royal duties. William has taken five family vacations in the past seven months.

The Prince of Wales’ first week back diary consisted of two outings: William took Princess Charlotte to a Women’s Rugby World Cup match and a walk through the Natural History Museum’s new gardens.

In contrast, Charles has carried out royal engagements on 175 days during the past year. The King is still battling cancer.

Allegedly, Princess Anne has also been annoyed that her nephewcan’t seem to undertake more “bread and butter” engagements for the Palace.

However, it is understandable that William wanted to be there for his wife, Kate Middleton, while she endured her cancer ordeal.

He also had to care for his children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. Tina Brown’s assertions seem somewhat harsh under the circumstances.

Brown claims that tensions are also high between Charles and William because the King feels that William’s image of the doting father is “tacit criticism of his own past shortcomings as a parent.”

Harry Had His First Meeting With The King In Nineteen Months

Brown also inferred that Harry’s return to the UK was triumphant and inspired, which she says is “bad news for William.”

Harry’s “positivity campaign” has been criticized by royal experts as a ploy to win back Britain’s favor and re-enter the royal fold.

Harry made a sizable donation of £ 1.1 million to the Children in Need Project.  This may have also been a tactic to endear himself to the public and improve his image.

The Duke of Sussex recently had his first meeting with the King after nineteen months. Charles wants to see his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

He has cancer, and, understandably, he would want to spend time with his family. However, he may be cutting Harry too much slack after he coldly trashed the royal family in his tell-all memoir, “Spare.”

Last year was very difficult for William and Kate, and no one would fault him for prioritizing his family. Additionally, Kate has not yet fully returned to her royal duties.

William described 2024 as “brutal” and “the most challenging year of his life. ”Kate completed chemotherapy in September and was declared cancer-free.

In November of last year, William told the Daily Mail,

“It’s probably been the hardest year of my life.”

He spoke about having to balance his personal life with being the future King,

“So, trying to get through everything else, and keep everything on track has been really difficult.”

William continued,

“But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they’ve done.”

He added,

“But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah. It’s been brutal.”
