A yellow map spread across London that resembles the shape of the fruit and was created by author Saul Sadka.

Originally posting the map on X, formerly Twitter, Saul suggested that the London banana represents the best area of the capital.

Sharing: “This is the London Banana.

“As long as you stay within the Banana, you’ll have a great time in London.

“Almost everything outside the Banana is horrible these days; best avoid.

“Not clear why, or when this happened.

“But it is what it is”.

The map quickly created a debate between those within the map and those left on the “horrible” part of London.

Do you live in the London banana?

Explaining how the London banan was created, Saul admitted to The Standard that it was “randomly made up based on personal experience”.

Before suggesting that it “actually aligns pretty well with several quality-of-life proxy maps, such as violent crime rates, property prices, and more”.

The author added that he was inspired to create the map after seeing someone in a “balaclava menacing someone with a stick quite openly on a high street just outside the banana”.

Since the map’s creation, it’s received mixed reactions and created a heated debate amongst Londoners.

Some called the London banana “deluded”, while others said it was “pretty fair”, and one said they were “not sure everywhere in this banana is so nice as you claim”.

The map covers the likes of Wimbledon, Kingston upon Thames, Battersea, Westminster, Camden Town, Kentish Town, Highgate, and Vauxhall.

However, many Londoners are suggesting that the London banana missed out on many parts of the capital that are ‘worthy’ of the banana.

One X user said: “Move it over slightly to the left to include Kilburn and Willesden and eliminate Battersea and Wandsworth, and it’s probably pretty accurate overall”.

Another said: “You’ve clearly never been to Blackheath or Greenwich. Maida Vale should clearly be inside the line”.

A third suggested that Canary Warf should make the banana: “Canary Warf, while quiet on the weekend and very office-centric, is actually great”.
