A man has been hospitalised after a “disturbance” near a supermarket in Edinburgh this afternoon.
The incident saw police rush to the scene on Nicolson Street near a Lidl supermarket at around 3pm. A 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, reports Edinburgh Live.
Although his condition is not currently known, officers have said enquiries are ongoing.
A resident who was on a bus passing by the incident said there were two police vehicles on Nicolson Street, parked on either side of the road.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Tuesday, 22 April, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Nicolson Street, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and a 35-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
