M&S has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and I would go as far as to say this autumn’s collection might just be its best yet.
Every time I step into the High Street Kensington store, I’m tempted – and it seems I’m not alone. My fellow writers and editors all admit they can never leave empty-handed.
This season, the offering feels particularly strong: dresses, skirts, trousers, jumpers and coats – every piece is lust-worthy.
It’s no wonder the Princess of Wales is a long-time fan of the British brand, famously owning that tailored blush pink trouser suit.
I can easily imagine her in the M&S Collection Printed V-Neck Tea Dress, with its feminine charm, flattering silhouette, delicate lace trims and swishy midi-length hem.
While Kate would no doubt style it with classic court shoes, I’ll be pairing mine with ballet flats and switching to knee-high boots when the temperature drops.
For those of us (the Princess included) who love rich wine tones, the Wool Coat is a standout. With sharp peak lapels, a double-breasted front and sleek longline cut, it looks far more expensive than its £100 price tag.
Another gem is the Faux Fur Buckle Trim Coat, an easy layering piece elevated by gold-tone detailing, costing a purse-friendly £75.
Other highlights? The Leather Look Carrot Trousers teamed with the pretty pink Textured Embellished Cardigan.
Or the new Autograph Wool Blend Blazer and Seam Detail Flared Trousers in versatile sage – a polished set that can shift effortlessly from day to night.
