The Vikings fell to a 20-10 defeat to London Broncos in the final game of 2025.
Allan Coleman’s side couldn’t recover from a 16-0 halftime deficit as they were confirmed as finishing 7th in the Betfred Championship.
The Broncos hit the front early as Liam Tindall finished off a passing move to cross out wide. The Vikings were then temporarily reduced to 12 men when Mike Butt was shown a yellow card for holding down, following a dangerous break from the visitors.
London capitalised on the man advantage, with Tindall crossing again in the corner for his second. A dropped kick by Matt Fleming then allowed the Broncos’ winger to complete his hat-trick before the break, putting the visitors firmly in control at the interval.
The Vikings responded in the second half as a Rhodri Lloyd climbed highest to claim Tom Gilmore’s kick and cross for a special try on his final career appearance.
However, any hopes of a late comeback were dashed when Brandon Webster-Mansfield exploited space on the right edge to restore London’s three-score cushion.
There was still time for a moment of individual brilliance from Gilmore, who chipped ahead and hacked the ball on for Joe Edge to gather and score in the corner. It proved to be no more than a consolation, however, as London held on for a 20-10 victory to condemn the Vikings to sixth home defeat of the campaign on the final day.
