Councillor for Sarisbury Green, Joanne Burton, has taken to social media after a pile of rubbish was dumped on private land off Glen Road in Swanwick.

She said: “Not the Saturday morning call I wanted to receive.

“A local resident has again, within a matter of months fallen victim to fly tipping, last time costing him thousands.”

She added: “I am furious that people think this is acceptable – I will do everything in my power to help him.

“Within an hour we already know more about the culprit than they would want us to know, so here’s a message for them.

“Do the right thing, come and collect your rubbish and save this poor land owner the stress and cost.”

This comes after a number of recent fly-tipping incidents at the Burridge Village Hall in Fareham earlier this month.
