Film Stories Live is in Birmingham this Wednesday evening – and we’re thrilled to announce our first guest – with a Terminator theme!
This Wednesday in Birmingham is our latest live movie show at the Midlands Arts Centre venue, Film Stories Live. The show has been running since 2019, and it’s 90 minutes of nerding out about films, with added local filmmaking guests, and money can buy prizes at the end. Here’s what happened at the last one.
I’m thrilled to announce too the first of the two guests at this Wednesday’s show.
Justine Malone has put together an acclaimed one-woman show parodying the Terminator films, called I’ll Be Back. It’s going to be touring the UK starting this autumn, and early previews have already earned plenty of acclaim. The show reimagines the first two films as set in the West Midlands, and as she says, “my ambition is after this short UK tour to continue to develop the show so that it can play mid-scale theatres and tour internationally. And, one day, to come on stage and see Arnold Schwarzenegger in the audience, with his single red eye gazing up at me. Then I’ll know I’ve made it.”
Justine is going to be coming along to Film Stories Live to tell us about the show, and the bits of it she’s shown me are both incredibly funny and very, very nerdy.
You can find tickets for Film Stories Live here. The show starts at 7.30pm (although I’ll be in the bar nattering from 6.30pm). I’ll be announcing the second guest imminently too, who’s going to be bringing along some world-exclusive footage with him.
For more information on I’ll Be Back and to get tour dates for Justine’s show, you can find it on Instagram, right here.
And finally, if you want a Film Stories Live show in your neck of the woods, I’m trying to put on lots of film events outside of London. Drop me a note – simon at filmstories dot co dot uk – and let me know if there’s a venue interested in hosting a show.
