A man who brought two women to the UK from Uganda has been convicted of raping them.

Charles Isabirye, 48, had promised the women work and a place to live, but once they were here due to his false promises, he took advantage of them both being in Britain with no family or friends.

Det Con Sarah Le Boutillier from Leicestershire Police’s Signal team, which investigates reports of sexual offences, said Isabirye “believed himself to be above the law” and had shown “no remorse for the acts he carried out”.

Isabirye, of Ratcliffe Road in Loughborough, was found guilty following a trial at Leicester Crown Court on Friday and will be sentenced at the same court on 20 October.
