Cue Corner, which is based in Clevedon but serves customers in Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and the wider region, turned one year old on September 1 this year.

Started by cue sports enthusiasts Lee Kerslake and Brad Kemp, the business began as an idea formed when the pair were competing at the WPA world championship in pool.

Already the go-to people for advice on buying pool and snooker cues, Lee and Brad decided to start selling them themselves.

“We bought around thirty cues and thought they would take months to sell,” said Lee. “But they sold out in weeks. The pool community is huge in the area.”

Since then, the business has struggled to keep pace with orders as word spread among players across the region.

The company now describes itself as one of the UK’s fastest-growing cue sports suppliers.

Alongside online sales, the business has developed a strong presence at presentation evenings and tournaments, running popular “pop-up” cue sports events. Much of its trade remains mobile and online, but the team is already considering the next step.

“We’d love to open a physical store,” Lee explained. “Weston is a strong possibility, though Bristol is also on the radar. We want to keep it local.”

In the meantime, their products are available through displays in partner stores around the area.

Now, they’ve moved beyond reselling and are designing and making their own cues. The goal, Lee said, is simple: to provide high-quality equipment at affordable prices. “We’re players before we’re businesspeople,” he added.

With a thriving first year behind them, the company is eyeing new opportunities while continuing to support the pool scene that inspired its launch.
