Scotland’s only annual celebration of female film-making will take place this weekend.

Sea Change is held on the Hebridean island of Tiree, and features national and international films.

This year’s screenings include of The Outrun, which stars Saoirse Ronan and is set in Orkney.

The Rugged Isle: A Shetland Lyric, a documentary made in 1934 by the pioneering Scottish filmmaker Jenny Gilbertson, will also feature.

Kerry Fox, who starred in Danny Boyle’s 1994 film Shallow Grave, will introduce a closing-night screening of Fanny and Elvis, in conversation with Glasgow Film’s chief executive Allison Gardner.

Fanny and Elvis is an odd couple romantic comedy from 1999 which has Fox playing a middle-class romantic novelist and Ray Winstone as a tough car salesman.

The international films include Sister Midnight, a feminist punk black comedy set on the streets of Mumbai in India, and Bob Trevino Likes It – an autobiographical comedy drama about two strangers who meet on Facebook.

Sea Change runs from Friday to Sunday.

Between the different screenings, audience members are invited to go for swims in the sea, and try out beach pilates and ceilidh dancing classes.
