HUTCHINSON — The New London-Spicer girls tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Hutchinson on Monday.
New London-Spicer won a pair of three-set doubles matches in the loss.
At No. 1 doubles, the Wildcats’ Heidi Taunton and Averie Turner beat the Tigers’ Brooke Hauan and Bhavya Sai Jalla, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1. Then at No. 2 doubles, Addilyn Nelson and Olivia Paffrath added another NLS win with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 victory over Lilly White and Kinley Miller.
Brooke Glauvitz added a Wildcats win at No. 1 singles.
NLS is now 1-2 in the Wright County Conference and 5-3 overall.
The Wildcats have a non-conference match with Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in New London.

Yellow Medicine East won its third straight match, improving its record to 6-5, with the victory over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at Granite Falls.
All of the Sting’s seven points came in straight sets. The closest match was at No. 1 doubles. Breea Johnson and Brooklynn Howe defeated the Jaguars’ Hannah Wurm and Grace Berndt, 6-1 6-4.
YME plays at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.
