Birmingham could see heavy rain batter the city for 13 hours tomorrow, according to the Met Office.

Heavy showers are predicted from midnight until 1pm on Wednesday, September 17.

The Met Office says ‘heavy’ and ‘persistent’ rain looks set to sweep eastwards throughout the morning.

The day will remain mostly cloudy with outbreaks of patchy and perhaps heavy rain.

The Met Office forecast for Wednesday reads: “Heavy, persistent rain clearing eastwards through the morning.

“Remaining mostly cloudy with outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle throughout the day, turning heavy at times.

“Breezy. Maximum temperature 21C.”

Forecasters say the rest of the week up until Saturday looks set to be ‘changeable’ with ‘long spells’ of rain at times.

“Remaining changeable with showers or longer spells of rain at times,” said the Met Office.

“Some brighter periods are also likely, though often breezy.

“Temperatures fairly close to the seasonal average.”
