In the 2022 series, while sitting alongside Prince Harry, Meghan Markle recalled the first time she met his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, while they were in Windsor for lunch at Royal Lodge. “How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother? And that you will need to curtsy. Especially to an American. That’s weird,” the father of two said. “It’s surreal. It wasn’t like some big moment of like, ‘Now you’re going to meet my grandmother,'” the Suits star chimed in. “I didn’t know I was going to meet her until moments before. And I remember we were in the car and we were driving up and he’s like, ‘You know how to curtsy right?’ And I just thought it was a joke.” Meghan then jokingly performed a dramatically exaggerated curtsy before she said, “Pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty.”

According to Jesús Enrique Rosas, Prince Harry did not seem happy with Meghan Markle retelling the story about meeting Queen Elizabeth II. “The first part of Harry’s reaction tells me that he knew what was coming. He is serious even if Meghan is speaking quickly, joyfully, but there’s no connection, no empathy in him,” the body language expert claimed. “He is serious and maybe even angry. Notice what happens with his throat. He is swallowing at that moment. He is looking at Meghan and he displays contempt. A split second after that, he looks away and presses his jaw. You can see the patches of red on his face are much redder. The cheeks, the bridge of the nose, the temples. It could be that he feels ashamed or angry.” Continued Rosas, “I’m going to tell you why this is covert anger and not [Harry being] ashamed. If he was ashamed, he would have smiled a bit more, or [had] a nervous laughter. But he knew what was coming and he couldn’t stand it. That he had that face at the beginning and had that subtle swallow right before Meghan did the curtsy.”

The observation from the body language expert comes after a British television host claimed Prince Harry appeared to be distancing himself from Meghan Markle with his solo trip to England. “Talk about spare! Harry’s become a spare part. A spare part at a wedding, a spare part at a state visit, a spare part in everything. Has he painted himself into irrelevance?” GB News star Martin Daubney said. “Well, he hasn’t. Because when he comes here, he becomes a focus of attention. But of course, he is spare to Meghan — or he was in her attempt to become the great television homemaker. But her series, her career, is crashing. So very cleverly, Harry has separated himself from Meghan, as she did from him, but she still needs him.”
