Prince Harrymade it clear that he doesn’t feel guilty about writing his explosive memoir, Spare.
Despite his lack of remorse, royal experts think his comments were just another opportunity for him to slight Prince William.

“I know that [speaking out] annoys some people, and it goes against the narrative. The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there,” Prince Harry told The Guardian. “One point of view had been put out, and it needed to be corrected.”
Harry claimed he just wanted to share his perspective with the world.
“I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible,” Prince Harry continued. “My conscience is clear.”
Still, Prince Harry was slammed by royal author Robert Jobson, as he believes his remarks only made things worse between him, Prince William and King Charles III.
“By insisting that he ‘didn’t air [his] dirty laundry in public,’ he risks gaslighting the very audience that has watched every revelation unfold in Spare and the Netflix series,” Jobson told the Daily Express.
Following the release of Spare and Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry expressed interest in reuniting with the royal family, but he continues to be isolated from them. “His remarks about reconciliation — ‘You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth’— land less like a call for healing and more like a calculated prod at Prince William,” Robert Jobson said.
“By repeatedly invoking his father, King Charles, Harry keeps himself firmly in the royal spotlight,” Robert Jobson continued, as Prince Harry expressed his desire to chat with King Charles III during an interview. “Does he think the public can’t see what’s happening? History cannot be rewritten, and his ventures — from the memoir to streaming deals— look to many like an effort to monetize the monarchy and build his fortune.”
While Prince Harry was able to see King Charles III while in London, Robert Jobson questioned the duke’s intentions.
“The ‘Harry the man-child’ act is wearing thin. People are no longer blinded by his boyish antics; the more he protests, the more transparent his craving for attention appears,” Jobson shared. “His ongoing references to the King seem designed less for reconciliation than for guaranteed media coverage.”
