Strictly Come Dancing’s Nadiya Bychkova has confessed ‘being single is beautiful’ following her split from Kai Widdrington.
Viewers of the BBC dance show were shocked last year when the pair revealed they were ending their relationship after three years together.
The duo first met on the programme in 2021, with their split reportedly stemming from the strains of working and touring alongside one another.
Kai has since found romance with Chloe Wells, whom he encountered nine months after becoming single, whilst Nadiya, 35, has stayed unattached.
Nadiya, who became part of Strictly in 2017, has now declared she’s in a ‘really good place’ living independently, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column: “Look at me – being single is beautiful. I’m in a really good place and I’m really happy.”

Following his Instagram debut with Chloe in April, Kai shared with Christine Lampard on Lorraine in May that he’s the ‘happiest’ he’s ever felt.
He said: “2025 is the half of 10 years, I’m turning 30 in August, and as you said, things come at the perfect time. I feel very, very happy, and it’s largely down to my other half as well.”
Following her and Kai’s separation, Nadiya disclosed that despite collaborating on Strictly, they no longer maintain a friendship.
She told The Mirror in October 2024: “We work together but we are not friends and that’s OK. One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him, it will be amazing because I’m a professional.”
Meanwhile, Nadiya recently disclosed that she opted to insure her entire body because ‘dancing puts food on the table’.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I do have things insured – everything I need for dancing. Dancing puts food on the table, so I need to make sure I am ok. I think it comes from when I was competing at the highest level.”
Nadiya went on: “I do a lot of workouts for my feet. It’s about building the muscles. You don’t want to walk in heels and twist something or break something.
“As we get older, we need to look after ourselves even more. If you twist your ankle, then you’re done.”
