The fallout from a legal ruling almost five years ago has left Northern Ireland as the only region of the UK where the public are unable to check whether someone has been previously barred from acting as a charity trustee.
A register of removed trustees is kept on both the Charity Commission for England and Wales and the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
