OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – A local high school marching band is set to go international as it has been invited to debut in the London Parade.
Organizers of the London Parade and Festival 2026 have announced that members of the Blue Valley West High School Marching Band in Overland Park have been invited to travel to participate in the event.
The event is an internationally celebrated occasion that draws more than half a million attendees to the streets of London. Millions more watch worldwide.
Leaders noted that the festival’s concert series showcases performances from ensembles in London’s most prestigious venues. This marks a highlight in the high school band’s musical journey.

Special guests from the UK are expected to be in attendance, including Festival Founder Bob Bone and Duncan Sandy’s – the great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill.
A formal presentation of the invitation was held at Blue Valley West High School on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
