The incident took place in Prince Regent Lane, near the junction with Glen Road, at 6.12pm on September 6.
On Thursday, September 18, an inquest was opened into Mr Maqsood’s death at East London Coroner’s Court.
Coroner’s officer Jean Smyth told the court Mr Maqsood was born in Plaistow and lived in Bow.
“On Saturday, September 6, police attended Prince Regent Lane E13 to reports of a male fallen from an e-scooter,” Ms Smyth said.
“A male identified as Aleem Maqsoon was found unconscious.”
Mr Maqsood was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.19pm.
A post-mortem gave his cause of death as multiple traumatic injuries.
Coroner Nadia Persaud said she was satisfied that a full inquest should take place to investigate his death.
Police have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
