Melania Trump laid bare what she really thinks about Princess Kate with a five-word comment during the unprecedented state visit. Melania and her husband Donald Trump spent two days and three nights in the UK before heading back to the USA.
The President and First Lady were hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle where they were the guests of honour at a state banquet.
President Trump then headed to Chequers for a meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer while Melania stayed in Windsor for some joint engagements with Camilla and Kate.
The First Lady was taken to the grounds of Frogmore House for an outing with Princess Kate where she joined in a series of activities with young Scouts. It was there that Melania showed her respect for the future queen consort when one of the Scouts asked her whether she was going to be the “next princess”.
Melania reportedly smiled and gestured to Kate: “She’s the only princess here.”
Donald Trump is the first ever US president to be afford two state visits to the UK. His first was in 2019 during his first term in the White House when Queen Elizabeth II was still alive and Theresa May was the Prime Minister.
Mr Trump made his own feelings clear with an off-mic comment showed how he felt about King Charles.
As part of the trip, the Trumps attended a state banquet alongside senior members of the Royal Family at St George’s Hall. Ahead of the speeches, Mr Trump, 79, was seen seated next to the King as the pair chatted away.
Lip-reader Jeremy Freeman claims that one moment between the pair away from the microphones showed Trump’s admiration for the 76-year-old monarch. The President was spotted turning to the King and saying: “It’s so incredible, it’s what you do so well.”
During his speech at the banquet, Mr Trump described being welcomed back for a second state visit as the “highest honour” of his life.
The President also spoke up the so-called “special relationship” between the United Kingdom and the United States. He said that phrase “does not begin to do it justice”.
Since arriving back in the USA, Mr Trump has spoken highly of the hospitality put on by the Royal Family and the UK during the visit.
Speaking to reporters in Washington DC, he called King Charles “a wonderful guy. The President also said he had seen “more paintings than any human being has ever saw” during his tour.
He added: “I got to a know him (Charles) very well. I knew him before, but now I know him a little better. I knew Charles as a prince and now I know him as a king and he’s doing very well.
“They treated us great. They treated our country great. I view that as being really respect for our country, the way they did it, because last night was beautiful.”
Mr Trump went on say his wife Melania enjoyed her time with Princess Kate, calling Prince William‘s wife “a very wonderful person”.
