Tributes have been made to ‘a beautiful soul’ following his death in a collision in Oldham. Jordan Relph, 20, was hit by a vehicle on Glodwck Road at around 5.55am on Thursday (September 18).

Despite the best efforts of emergency services Jordan died at the scene. Jordan, who identified as male, leaves a twin, Olly, and two younger brothers, aged seven and three.

His aunt, Claire Relph, said: “Jordan was a beautiful soul who’d light up any room with his smile. He loved to go out and enjoy himself like any other young lads and had hundreds of friends.

“Jordan’s loss has had an impact on many different people’s lives and we would all like to give him the best send off we can.”

Jordan’s mother Laura told the Manchester Evening News said: “Jordan was a young, loving, caring person. He had an impact on the life of everyone who met him. Jordan’s smile would light up a room. He loved to dance and was very popular. I am heartbroken.”

Claire added: “We are raising funds as there is no help towards his funeral. No parent should ever have to organise their own child’s funeral.”

Jordan’s friend Tia Henderson, the former youth mayor of Oldham, said things will ‘never be the same’ without him. She added: “Jords, the life of the party in every situation, with an incredible sense of humour. Our little human Red Bull, who brought energy and happiness to everyone!

“Losing Jordan has really hit our friendship group hard; everyone is grieving in their own way. Sharing all the memories and messages that we shared with Jordan has made everyone realise that the world has lost a very genuine human being.”

Cousin, Joshua Relph, 22, said: “Jordan was a bright and loving child, cherished by family and friends – a kind and joyful young person who touched so many lives. This sudden passing has left us heartbroken, and we are raising funds to help with funeral costs and to give them the farewell they deserve.”

Police at the scene following the tragedy

Claire has set up a gofundme page to raise funds for Jordan’s funeral. An investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now underway.

“At around 5.50am this morning (18 September 2025), officers responded to a road traffic collision on Glodwick Road, Oldham,” a GMP spokesperson said. “Sadly, a pedestrian died at the scene.”

A white coloured Vauxhall car could be seen inside a cordon on the day of the tragedy and was being inspected by police officers.
