Dominic Calvert-Lewin has admitted that Leeds United were left with some frustrations despite defeating Wolves 3-1.
Leeds United got back to winning ways in style on Saturday, defeating relegation rivals Wolves 3-1 in a crucial victory.
Daniel Farke’s side fell behind after just eight minutes but didn’t allow their heads to drop, storming back to go two goals in front before half-time.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin dragged his new side level with an impressive header, before a stunning Anton Stach free-kick sent them into the lead.
Noah Okafor’s tidy finish completed the turnaround to put Leeds in the driving seat in the second half.
However, Leeds were on the back foot after the break and had to rely on several fine Karl Darlow saves to maintain their advantage.
Calvert-Lewin has admitted the whole squad was ‘frustrated’ by their performance in the second half.

Leeds showed defensive resilience as the home side pushed to get back into the game, but struggled to create any more chances of their own against a team pushing high up the field.

The Whites were hemmed into their own half, and it’s something they want to improve going forward.
Calvert-Lewin told BBC Match of the Day: “We were a bit frustrated with how we played in the second half and we should have took the game to them a little bit more.
“We didn’t come out with the intention to sit back, but that’s the way it panned out. I think it showed our resilience to be able to defend deep.
“Next time, we’ll look to build on the momentum in the first half and not just look to sit back.
“It’s a massive win. We knew what we were capable of going into the game. It’s a big game even though it’s early in the season.
“I think going 1-0 down, we showed great character to turn it around, and then we had the confidence to play. The rest took care of itself.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes promise after scoring his first Leeds United goal
It hadn’t been the best start in a Leeds shirt for Calvert-Lewin, as he missed several great chances and a penalty in the shootout in his debut, the Carabao Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
He then missed another good chance in the defeat to Fulham last weekend, so bouncing back with a strong display is vital, as Leeds will need his goals if they are to stay up.
Calvert-Lewin is delighted to get off the mark and has promised to build upon the momentum.
“Strikers feed off goals,” he said.
“It gives you confidence. For me, getting that goal, it’s nice to get my first one for the club and I’ll look to build on it.”
