A body has been found outside Tynecastle Park in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to Heart of Midlothian FC’s stadium at Wheatfield Place after the alarm was raised at around 6.30am on Sunday.

An image from the scene showed a police car, ambulance and blue tent outside the ground.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record: “Around 6.30am on Sunday, we were made aware of a man found unresponsive on Wheatfield Place, Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
