A suspect was found hiding underneath a work bench after a break-in at a Merseyside garage. Merseyside Police received a report that someone had broken into a building on Stanley Road, Bootle, at around 9.45pm on Monday, April 21.
Officers arrived at the scene where, with the help of police dog Wish, they found a bag of tools, believed to be from the garage, in the forecourt before an open window to the building was seen.
As PD Wish searched the property a suspect was found underneath a workbench and was arrested and was later charged.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged with burglary following an incident at a business in Bootle.
“On Monday 21 April at around 9.45pm, it was reported that someone had broken into a garage on Stanley Road.
“Officers attended the scene and with the help of Police Dog Wish, a man was found and arrested at the scene. A bag of tools was also found, believed to be from the garage.
“Peter Jones, 53, of Christmas Street, in Liverpool, has been charged with burglary and is due to appear at South Sefton Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday 23 April.
