Latest Manchester United transfer news with an update on the future of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson

Manchester United are once again being linked with a move for Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson.
United made five new signings during the summer transfer window, including a major revamp of their forward line with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko. Senne Lammens and Diego Leon also moved to Old Trafford this summer but are yet to make their first appearances for the club.
The end of the summer also saw United heavily linked with signing a new midfielder, as Brighton star Carlos Baleba emerged as a potential target. Now, though, it seems that United may try and pursue a deal for Anderson as they look to bolster their midfield options.
TEAMtalk have reported that United are weighing up making a move for Anderson during the January transfer window. United are reported to have the money available to sign a midfielder in the New Year, with Ruben Amorim maintaining the backing of the Old Trafford hierarchy.
Baleba is mentioned in the report as a ‘dream’ target for United, who is likely to only be available next summer if a transfer is going to be possible. As a result, United are turning their attention to Anderson ahead of the January window, although it’s suggested that Forest will be hesitant to sell one of their star players.
