Still considered by many to be one of, if not the best game in the series, Yakuza 0 could soon be making a comeback on PS5.
Earlier this year, SEGA released a slightly expanded version of the crime drama classic exclusively on Switch 2. The so-called Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut features additional cutscenes, an action-heavy only co-op mode, and optional English voice acting.
According to a fresh rumour, this version of the game is apparently coming to PS5. Polish website PPE — who just last week claimed that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be jetting to Sony’s system this November — is now on record saying that Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is a lock.
To be clear, this is a pretty much an unproven source — but the existence of such a port would hardly come as a shock to anyone. Back when Director’s Cut was revealed, a Nintendo press release claimed that it was arriving “first” on Switch 2.
Of course, there’s an RGG Summit livestream set for this Wednesday, the 24th September. It’s assumed that an announcement will be made during the broadcast.
Interestingly, PPE’s source also mentions that there’ll be a physical edition of Director’s Cut on PS5 — and it’ll supposedly be up for immediate pre-order, ahead of an 8th December release date.
We obviously won’t have to wait long to see whether this rumour is accurate. In any case, we certainly wouldn’t say no to a cheeky replay of Yakuza 0.
