Jose Mourinho, the ‘special one’… Could he be about to head to Leeds United and replace Daniel Farke, who on Monday secured promotion to the Premier League?
Leeds United were promoted on Easter Monday after two years in the Championship. Once again all is well in West Yorkshire after a very nervy few weeks in which manager Daniel Farke has gone from hero, to villain, to hero once more.
On Monday Leeds United thumped Stoke City 6-0 at Elland Road. Joel Piroe scored four goals to set up Leeds for a memorable day, which was capped when Sheffield United lost 2-1 away at Burnley to promote both Burnley and Leeds United.
Despite the success of this season, though, it’s now being reported that Leeds United could sack Farke before next season. The 49ers are understood to have doubts about Farke’s record in the Premier League, which is in truth, pretty shocking (six wins in 49 games).
Speaking recently, pundit Darren Bent suggested Jose Mourinho would be interested by Leeds United should the job become available. He currently manages Fenerbahce.

Despite Bent’s suggestions, transfer insider Graeme Bailey has revealed to Leeds United News, rather unsurprisingly, that Mourinho to Elland Road is a non-starter. Bailey says that he’s not yet heard that rumour.
He said: “I have not heard anything about that whatsoever. It would be an amazingly off-kilter appointment if they looked at that. I don’t think he’s being discussed by Leeds or RedBull or anyone within the club… I’ve not heard it.”
Mourinho, now 62, certainly has the profile of someone who could establish Leeds United in the Premier League with 217 wins in 363 games in the English top flight, and three Premier League titles too.

Jose Mourinho arriving at Leeds United could seal one summer transfer deal
Stranger things have certainly happened in football than Mourinho leaving Fenerbahce for one last challenge in the Premier League. And if Mourinho did arrive at Leeds United then it could all but seal one possible summer transfer.
Leeds United are interested in Bright Osayi-Samuel at Fenerbahce. The Whites tried to sign the Nigerian international last summer but he remained in Turkey where he now sees his contract expire in a few months.
Fenerbahce have offered Osayi-Samuel an extension and a pay rise, but he’s yet to accept. If Mourinho moves on to Leeds then it could make Osayi-Samuel to Leeds United a formality.
But, Mourinho to Leeds United is purely just speculation right now, paper talk.
