Bristol investment company Hargreaves Lansdown is planning to relocate from its Harbourside offices after more than four decades.
The financial services firm, which was established by Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Lansdown in 1981, will move its 2,000-strong workforce from Anchor Road to a new landmark building at Temple Quay.
According to our sister site Business Live, Hargreaves Lansdown has signed a long-term lease for more than 90,000 sq ft across three floors at the Welcome Building – a new high-spec office development near to Temple Meads station.
Gary Logan, chief operating officer at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: “We chose Welcome Building for its excellent transport links, next-generation workspace, fantastic amenities and strong ESG credentials – something that is increasingly important for our business and clients.
“Colleagues will benefit from a workplace that has been designed with their needs, health and happiness firmly in mind, encouraging a spirit of collaboration, community and positive impact.”
The Welcome Building is a huge 207,000 sq ft workspace being delivered in a joint venture between EPISO 5, a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners, and Trammell Crow Company.

Inside the building is office and workspace, a café, 3,000 sq ft state-of-the-art gym and wellness space, auditorium, breakout seating areas and public art.
Toby Pentecost, senior vice president and head of UK offices at Trammell Crow Company, said: “Attracting such a high-quality British name and renowned Bristol-based business on a long-term lease is testament to the building’s exceptional credentials, from its city centre location, flexible floorplates and amenity-rich spaces, to the highest environmental and wellbeing standards.”
Hargreaves Lansdown, which agreed to a £5.4bn private equity takeover last year, follows a number of other organisations in choosing the Temple Quays area amid significant investment and development going on there.
James Brodie, managing director of Tristan Capital Partners, added: “Welcome Building sets a new bar for sustainability and user experience not just in Bristol but UK-wide.
“It provides a well-located, high-quality, beautiful and vibrant working environment where people and businesses can truly thrive. We are excited to welcome Hargreaves Lansdown to join this growing, dynamic community.”
Alder King and Knight Frank are leasing agents for Welcome Building, while Newsteer represented Hargreaves Lansdown.
