2. COOK! with The Vegetarian Society Credit: Asher Chan
Located in Ancoats, The Vegetarian Society opened its cookery school in early 2025, and here you’ll find a vibrant selection of vegetarian and vegan workshops, supper clubs, half-day and full-day sessions. Whether you want to become a pro at vegetarian cookery or learn how to make delicious vegan street food, The Vegetarian Society offers a host of flavour-filled, plant-based experiences. Cookery class options include mastering the basics of vegetarian and vegan cooking, curry club, global street food favourites, Indian feast nights, and chopping like a chef.

3. Chapattis n Curries
If you ever wanted to master making a top-notch homemade curry, then this is the cookery class for you – and after this course, it might be quicker for you to whip up one at home than to order a takeaway. Held at Chorlton High School, the courses with Chappattis and Curries are structured, informal, and fun – plus, each class is run at a pace that suits you, and no prior cooking experience is necessary. Plus, curries are best eaten with chapattis, so at this cookery class you’ll also learn how to make round, soft and light chapattis on a live flame to dip into your perfectly-made curry. There are also cookery classes available where you can learn to make pakoras and samosas too. All ingredients and equipment are provided, but be warned that it can get quite hot and spicy in this class!

4. The Foodie Kitchen Credit: The Foodie Kitchen
Based in the Greater Manchester area of Rochdale, The Foodie Kitchen also offers cookery classes, but mainly with a focus on curries and authentic Asian cuisine. From preparing a meat feast including juicy chicken kebabs and a fabulous lamb chop curry with fluffy naan to mastering curry classics like chicken tikka, tarka daal, and saag paneer, and sensational starters such as pakoras, samosas, and more – you’ll walk away with a few new recipes in your cooking repertoire. At The Cheshire Cookery School in the Greater Manchester area of Altrincham, there are cookery classes to suit all skill sets and culinary specialisms.
