Manchester United academy star Chido Obi is easily one of the most exciting prospects emerging from Carrington.

Since the takeover, Ineos have shifted transfer strategy at Manchester United and are eager to invest in young players who can develop into superstars.

Chido Obi certainly fits that profile, so it makes sense why United poached him from Arsenal’s academy last summer.

Obi has been tipped as a “special” talent, and fans got a glimpse of his potential last season when he made eight first-team appearances across all competitions.

Ruben Amorim is a big admirer of Obi and it feels inevitable that the 17-year-old will eventually have a big career at Old Trafford.

Obi is the top scorer in U18s history, and he is showing no signs of slowing down at United with 17 goals in 18 games at U18s and U21s level.

Staff and coaches are understandably excited by Obi’s potential, and scouts might want to keep an eye on his brother who is following his trajectory.

As pointed out by Attacking Football on X, his younger brother Chuk Obi has just scored his first goal in the Premier League U18s for West Ham.

Chido and his brother Chuk won’t meet in the Premier League U18s level because of the north and south divide, but there is a good chance they could face each other down the line.

Who is Chuk Obi? Chido Obi’s younger brother

At just 17 years old, Chido Obi is dominating academy football and proven himself capable of handling the Premier League’s physicality.

It seems that his instinctive striker traits are something that runs in his family, as younger brother Chuk is also a centre-forward for West Ham.

Born in 2009, Chuk Obi is 16 years old and currently plays for Denmark’s Under-17s as well as West Ham’s academy.

He has made three appearances for West Ham’s Under-18s this season, and looks to be a player that could become a regular in their youth side.

United have previously had brotherly connections in Gary and Phil Neville as well as Fabio and Rafael – perhaps one day the Obi brothers will also call Old Trafford home.
