The Spanish destination where British holidaymakers receive the “best value” for their money has been revealed.

This follows fresh analysis by Spanish tutor James Smith, who boasts “extensive living experience” throughout the nation.

He revealed that Cádiz takes the crown, achieving an outstanding “Holiday Value Score” (which considers affordability across lodging, dining and entertainment) of 79.34.

This positions it as “the ultimate destination for budget-conscious Brits”, James noted.

Despite hotel prices reaching £126.16 nightly, the destination “more than compensates with remarkably affordable dining” at merely £29.50 for a meal for two, plus bargain beer costing £1.19 per bottle, reports the Express.

Public transport remains exceptionally economical at £0.93 per ticket, whilst attractions average just £20.08, the Spanish instructor explained.

“Cádiz is a hidden gem that British tourists frequently overlook,” he continued.

“It’s one of Europe’s oldest cities with stunning beaches and incredible history, yet it offers some of the best value you’ll find anywhere in Spain.”

Information utilised by James for this conclusion was gathered from Booking.com for lodging, Numbeo for living expenses and TripAdvisor for attraction costs.

All prices were converted to pound sterling using average exchange rates.

The specialist continued: “While Spain is generally affordable compared to the UK, some cities offer exceptional value for British tourists by combining low daily costs with rich cultural and leisure experiences.

“What makes these top-ranking destinations special isn’t only their low prices, but how they balance affordability across all aspects of a holiday, from where you sleep to what you eat and see.

“Cities like Cádiz and Córdoba are proof that you don’t need to sacrifice quality for value.

“These places offer authentic Spanish experiences, incredible history, and local charm at prices that make your pounds work harder.

“For Brits considering a move to Spain or planning an extended stay, understanding these cost differences can literally save thousands while opening doors to some of the country’s most fascinating destinations.”

Visitors to Cádiz can experience numerous attractions, including the historic old town featuring narrow streets and vibrant buildings.

The city also boasts Cádiz Cathedral, the viewing platform at Torre Tavira, and the Central Market offering fresh seafood.

Holidaymakers can wander along the seafront promenade and relax on the city’s beaches, including La Caleta Beach.

Furthermore, the city provides rich cultural opportunities, from visiting the Roman Theatre to discovering its flamenco heritage.
