A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a male was spotted with a ‘knife’ in a park. Merseyside Police were called to South Park in Bootle just before 12.30pm today, September 24, following reports a male was in possession of a bladed weapon.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 17-year-old boy was arrested nearby and taken into custody for questioning. There have been no reports of any injuries and a knife has not been found at this stage, police said.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm a teenage boy has been arrested following an incident in Bootle earlier today.

“At around 12.25pm on Wednesday 24 September, we received a report that a male had been in possession of a knife in South Park.

“Emergency services attended the scene and a 17-year-old boy was arrested nearby and taken into custody for questioning.

“There have been no reports of any injuries and a knife has not been found at this stage.”
