StorMagic and SNUC have entered into an original equipment manufacturer partnership to deliver integrated, AI-ready hyperconverged infrastructure appliances for organisations operating critical workloads across distributed sites.
Under the agreement, SNUC will combine its 2000- and 3000-series extremeEDGE Servers with StorMagic’s SvHCI software to produce certified, factory-ready solutions targeting demanding edge environments. These appliances are available immediately through global distributors and resellers.
Edge-focused solutions
The integrated solutions are designed to provide highly available shared storage and real-time compute in a ruggedised, hyperconverged infrastructure format. Customers can specify configurations that match the precise requirements of their particular environments, enabling them to avoid acquiring unnecessary features or excessive capacity, often referred to as shelfware and overprovisioning.
The systems are built to simplify both procurement and deployment. They arrive pre-certified and pre-integrated, requiring minimal setup by end users and allowing for what both companies describe as a “simple out-of-the-box experience.” The joint offering aims to reduce deployment time and keep ongoing management straightforward.
“SNUC is excited to partner with StorMagic to deliver flexible solutions built specifically for the world’s most demanding environments,” said Jonny Smith, CEO at SNUC. “Combining SNUC’s fanless, rugged, AI-ready edge servers with StorMagic’s simply reliable SvHCI software delivers optimal value in a complete, tightly integrated HCI appliance that is purpose-built for the edge.”
Easy installation and ongoing manageability are key positioning points for the solutions. Customers running essential workloads at the edge-outside traditional data centres-require robust, simple-to-operate systems that can be deployed quickly, with minimal on-site IT resources.
Channel opportunities
The collaboration also represents a new revenue opportunity for distributors and value added resellers (VARs), who are able to offer a certified HCI appliance that comes bundled with complementary services and support for edge environments. The solution can be tailored for sectors such as defence, manufacturing, autonomous transport, and remote healthcare, all of which demand resilient computing close to their operations.
“This partnership is about removing barriers for customers who need reliable IT in challenging environments,” said Susan Odle, CEO at StorMagic. “By combining SNUC’s rugged servers with StorMagic’s simple and flexible software, we are giving organisations and their partners a proven, cost-effective system that is ready to deploy immediately and easy to manage over time.”
The joint offering provides pre-integrated hardware and software, designed to address environments where downtime or technical complexity is not acceptable. According to both companies, one of the distinguishing factors of the bundle is its ability to match specific customer requirements while remaining straightforward to implement.
Industry context
Organisations increasingly require distributed IT infrastructure to support applications and data at remote or edge locations. As workloads such as artificial intelligence and real-time analysis move away from central data centres, demand grows for compact, durable solutions that can operate independently in often challenging conditions.
The collaboration between StorMagic and SNUC is aimed at meeting these needs by integrating SNUC’s fanless, rugged hardware with StorMagic’s SvHCI software stack. The solution is delivered through established channel partners to customers worldwide, addressing the needs of sectors reliant on IT at the edge.
The partnership brings together SNUC’s experience in rugged, modular compute platforms and StorMagic’s software, which manages business-critical applications and data outside the core data centre environment.
