The smash-hit Broadway production of Beetlejuice The Musical is coming to London!

After years of speculation, producers of the show have announced that Beetlejuice The Musical will open at the West End’s Prince Edward Theatre in London in May 2026.

The show will follow MJ The Musical, which concludes its run at the theatre on 28 February 2025.

Based on Tim Burton’s much-loved 1988 film starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, Beetlejuice has a book by Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King (Broad City), music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, and musical direction, orchestrations and incidental music by Kris Kukul.

Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Just in Time), the musical follows gothic teen Lydia Deetz, a recently deceased couple, and a flamboyant demon who’s more than fond of black‑and‑white stripes.

The creative team also includes choreography by Connor Gallagher (The Robber Bridegroom), set design by David Korins, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Peter Hylenski, projection design by Peter Nigrini, and puppet design by Michael Curry.

Burton’s beloved cult-classic film starred Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, along with Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O’Hara, and Winona Ryder.

Beetlejuice The Musical premiered on Broadway in April 2019 at the Winter Garden Theatre, though its initial run was cut short by Covid. The production returned to Broadway’s Marquis Theatre in April 2022, where it played until January 2023.

The musical then launched a major North American tour, and is set to return to New York for a limited 13-week season at the Palace Theater from 8 October 2025.

Internationally, the show premiered in Melbourne Australia this year before transferring to Sydney, and will play dates in Abu Dhabi and Singapore, where Broadway star Andy Karl has been announced to take on the title role.

Full casting for London is to be announced.

The show is produced by Crossroads Live and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.

James Lane, Producer, Crossroads Live said in a statement: “The wait is over! We are beyond thrilled to be working alongside Warner Bros. and the ingenious team behind Beetlejuice to bring this highly anticipated Broadway hit to London’s West End at last. There is nothing else quite like this show, and audiences really are in for a terrifyingly hilarious treat at the spectacular Prince Edward Theatre next year.”

Producers Mark Kaufman (Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures) and Kevin McCormick (Langley Park Productions) said: “After three successful Broadway engagements, a record-setting 88-city North American tour, and captivating audiences across international stages in Tokyo, Seoul, Abu Dhabi, and Melbourne, Beetlejuice will finally arrive in the United Kingdom. We are thrilled Beetlejuice will soon make its debut in London’s West End with its signature wit and irreverence.”

Beetlejuice The Musical is playing at the Prince Edward Theatre in London from May 2026, with dates to be announced. Beetlejuice tickets are on sale from 30 October.
