Another five individuals and businesses in Northern Ireland who were handed financial penalties for deliberately failing to meet their tax obligations of more than £25,000 have been publicly named by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
It has published 109 cases from across the UK, with penalties totalling over £70 million.
In each case, the taxpayer failed to fully disclose their default at the outset of an investigation.
In Northern Ireland, the penalties imposed range from in the newly-publishes list range from around £11,000 to more than £48,000.
The latest update includes cases across various sectors such as property, construction, hospitality and healthcare.

The list only includes those penalised under civil procedures and does not include criminal convictions for fraud.
Kevin Hubbard, HMRC’s director of individuals and small business compliance, said: “We are determined to tackle the minority who deliberately refuse to pay what they owe and will pursue all available avenues to recover unpaid amounts.
“Publishing the names of deliberate defaulters sends a clear message that this behaviour has consequences and encourages compliance across the board.”
The five businesses in Northern Ireland included on the newly-published list are:
- Joseph James Elwood (trading as Titanic Vapour), e-cigarette and vape retailer, 264 Shankill Road, Belfast – tax owed: £101,993.79; penalty: £48,192.06.
- Michael McGarry (haulier) ,6 Lisdarragh Drive, Blackwatertown, Dungannon – tax owed: £56,456; penalty: £22,723.54.
- Colm Michael Fleville (HGV driver), 38 Foxgrove, Lurgan – tax owed: £53,865; penalty: £24,508.57.
- SR 3D Printing Ltd print services, 611 The Arc, Titanic Quarter, Belfast – tax owed: £29,025; penalty: £26,122.49.
- Declan Patrick Hughes (agricultural merchant), 6 Donaldsons Road, Crossmaglen – tax owed: £26,749.92; penalty: £11,234.96.
The above defaulters’ details will remain on the HMRC website for 12 months.
Northern Ireland defaulters named on previous lists within the last year are:
- Ifourcs (NI Ltd) management consultants, formerly of 81A Galgorm Road, Ballymena, and Unit 22A, Pennybridge Industrial Estate, Ardilaun House, Ballymena – Tax owed: £1,941,933.91; penalty: £1,941,933.91.
- Martin Desmond Rocks (plasterer), 79 Mourne View Park, Newry, and formerly of 13 Carnbane Gardens, Newry – Tax: £252,556.46; penalty: £176,789.51.
- Shaun Alexander Harte (consultant), formerly of Tullymacnous Mill, Tullymacnous Road, Toye, Downpatrick – tax: £82,453.81; penalty: £49,472.25.
- Mamo Building Services Ltd (building contractors), formerly of Unit 1, Railway Street, Armagh -Tax: £80,148; penalty: £36,467.34.
- Vincent Paul McGuinness (warehouse rental), 30 Low Road, Ayallogue, Killeavy, Newry – Tax: £57,411.55; penalty: £53,966.78.
- Aidan Gerard McQuaid (HGV driver), formerly of 27 Clover Hill, Moy, Dungannon – Tax: £35,725; penalty: £15,004.
