Welcoming a dog into the family is one of life’s pure joys. Pet pooches are delightful additions to the household, especially if there are children around just waiting to welcome their new-found friend into the fold.
However, not every canine has the best star to life, and that’s where Skipper and Patsy come on. In fact, these seven-year-old and 11-year-old Jack Russell Terriers have both been waiting for over 500 days for their happy ending.
Dogs Trust Glasgow is steadfast on giving these animals, who long to be loved, a home that does just that. The “energic, intelligent, and loyal” dogs have been waiting patiently for over a year to find their perfect matches.
Could that be you?
“We are appealing to terrier lovers and anyone with a terrier-shaped hole in their heart to come and meet Skipper and Patsy as they are two fantastic little dogs who have spent too long in our care,” Sandra Downie, Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said.

“Skipper is a happy fella, who is bright, playful and enjoys learning new tricks. Patsy is an older girl but she has plenty of energy. She is playful, fun and is as cute as a button.
“Both dogs are desperate to be loved and are finding kennel life difficult. They enjoy company so would be best suited to calm, predictable homes where they are the only pet and where their new families are around for most of the day.
“If you work from home or are retired, Skipper or Patsy could be the perfect best buddy for you, as they won’t leave your side.”
Skipper loves to play with toys, especially tug of war, which is his favourite game.
He has enjoyed time in foster care, where he loves receiving attention, snoozing in the garden and visiting dog-friendly cafes. Skipper can walk with doggie friends, although would relish being the only pet in his new abode.

Meanwhile, Patsy enjoys her walks, loves playing with toys and is always on the go proving that age is just a number. She is a sociable girl with people and will become your friend instantly if you throw her a ball.
One thing to note is that Patsy isn’t keen on other dogs, so she requires a home where she is the only pet.
She could live with secondary school-age children.
“We know they will thrive when they find their forever families,” Sandra added.
“I urge anyone considering adopting to please consider our terrific terriers as they will bring friendship, loyalty and love to any home, and you will be changing their lives forever.”
