A weather warning for rain has been issued by the UK’s Met Office, covering parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
The yellow alert has been issued for the east of Northern Ireland, from a broad area beginning just outside Portrush on the North Coast and spanning most of Co Antrim and Co Down.
In Scotland, the warning area includes a significant portion of the western coast and islands, in a broad swathe running roughly from Fortwilliam to Whithorn.

It comes into effect in Northern Ireland from 7am on Saturday morning and is set to remain in place until 7pm.
The Met Office say there is a chance of “some flooding and travel disruption”.
In terms of what to expect, the forecaster says “flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible; some interruption to power supplies and other services is possible; bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer; spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.”
The forecasters added: “Outbreaks of rain will move eastwards across Northern Ireland on Saturday morning, likely becoming persistent and heavy across eastern counties during the afternoon before slowly clearing.”
In Scotland, the warning will remain in place for a longer period of time. It kicks in from 8am in western Scotland – an hour after Northern Ireland – but will remain in force until midnight.
