There will be lots of changes at Everton in the coming weeks and months, and the club now look all set to announce a new boardroom level appointment in the form of Nick Hammond.

Fans are very excited about the next transfer window, as it will be an opportunity for The Friedkin Group to flex their financial muscles.

They were unable to really do that in January, with PSR still a concern.

But the purse strings will be loosened a bit this time, and fans can’t wait to see who walks through the door ahead of the 2025/26.

And it isn’t just new players that fans are excited about.

TFG are looking to appoint new executives to ensure that Everton have the best possible chance of succeeding, both on and off the pitch.

Angus Kinnear was named as the new Everton CEO recently.

And earlier today it was suggested Everton were eyeing Nick Hammond, who is an advisor at Leeds United at the moment.

Now, an agreement has been reached, with an intriguing detail emerging about the soon-to-be-official appointment.

It has been reported by journalist Ben Jacobs that Everton have now reached an agreement for Nick Hammond to join the club.

He writes on X: “Understand Nick Hammond has now agreed to join Everton, working under incoming CEO Angus Kinnear.

“He is currently a recruitment consultant with Leeds. Hammond will not be a direct replacement for Kevin Thelwell, who is set to join Rangers.”

Hammond has previously held roles at West Brom, Newcastle, Celtic and Reading, before becoming interim football adviser at Leeds in 2023.

This news should come as no surprise, after it was suggested Kinnear was looking to bring executives from Leeds with him to Everton.

What is interesting and perhaps slightly surprising about this development is that Hammond will not be coming in as Kevin Thelwell’s replacement.

According to BBC Sport though, Hammond may oversee player contracts at Everton, which is usually something sporting directors look after.

He is leaving at the end of the season and is currently assisting the transition period, and it was claimed earlier today that Thelwell is set to become the new director of football at Rangers.
