Leeds United return to Elland Road this weekend with home fixture against Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth.

Daniel Farke has two wins and a draw from his first five Premier League games this season, and it tees up this fixture against high-flying Bournemouth quite nicely.

Andoni Iraola has masterminded a very bright start to the season once more for the Cherries, but Farke will also be looking to build on his strong start too.

Chris Sutton predicts scoreline of Leeds United v Bournemouth

If Chris Sutton’s crystal ball proved to be the deciding factor in Premier League games, Leeds would have just two points this season.

Having predicted 1-1 draws against Everton and Newcastle United and defeats in the other three fixtures, he’s held quite a pessimistic view of Farke’s Leeds.

Again, his BBC predictions have Leeds on the losing side against Bournemouth, in spite of the fact his gut tells him this is likely to be a draw.

“I’ve been told I absolutely cannot go for 10 draws this week, which is shame because this game has got draw written all over it,” Sutton wrote.

Despite actually thinking it’ll be a draw and ultimately jotting down a 2-1 defeat, Sutton has been impressed by Leeds of late. However, it makes no difference to his rationale.

“Being serious, I was very impressed by Leeds’ win over Wolves last time out,” he continued. “It really surprised me, but it was a brilliant result that showed what they have got to offer under Daniel Farke, and that they are going to give it a real go this season.

“Even so, I am backing Bournemouth here. The Cherries were a bit flat against Newcastle last week but they usually create loads of chances and that’s what I am expecting them to do at Elland Road.”

Bournemouth a very tough proposition at home for Leeds United

Bournemouth are level on points with second for a reason after five games. They’ve been that good and are likely to be in contention for European places again this season.

That’s a testament to Iraola. It’s also a case of what could have been at Leeds if he decided to join as Jesse Marsch’s replacement.

This is by no means a straightforward game for Leeds at al. Any positive result here would be an impressive one.
