Major online travel agencies and hotel associations actually agreed on something — the European Union’s new Code of Conduct for Online Ratings and Reviews.
Some of the biggest names in online travel, including Tripadvisor, Expedia Group, Booking.com, and trade group EU Travel Tech, have thrown their weight behind the European Union’s new hotel review code.
Endorsed earlier this month by the European Commission, the initiative aims to bring greater transparency to online hotel reviews at a time when fake content continues to erode consumer trust.
In addition to online travel agencies, HOTREC, a hotel and restaurant association that represents 47 national associations in 36 countries, endorsed the code of conduct, as well.
