West Midlands Police have confirmed that the Section 60 will be enforced in parts of Washwood Heath and Ward End until 6am on Sunday following recent serious incidents including a firearms discharge in Ward End Park Road.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are continuing to use Section 60 powers in parts of Washwood Heath and Ward End this evening.
“It follows recent serious incidents including a firearms discharge in Ward End Park Road.

“The Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds and will be in place for 12 hours from 6pm on September 27 until 6am on September 28.
“As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe.
