However, while Meghan was not that famous at the time, she reportedly had a strict request to guests at her first wedding, which was met with some amusement.

In her book The Palace Papers, Tina Brown quoted a guest who attended the 2011 wedding.

As reported by Brown, the guest said: “The only jarring note is that Meghan sent out a note requesting ‘no social media, please’.

“We were all laughing because she had been on Suits for a few months and at that point, we were like, is she kidding me? She was like, ‘I’m a really big actress’.”

Meghan and Trevor separated in 2013 as a result of “irreconcilable differences”, with their divorce being finalised in 2014.

This was four years before Meghan walked down the aisle again to marry Prince Harry in Windsor after their whirlwind romance, with Meghan giving up her role on Suits to marry King Charles’ youngest son.

The couple had dated for less than two years before Harry asked for Meghan’s hand in marriage at their Kensington Palace home, with their wedding then taking place less than a year later.

While Meghan was welcomed into the Royal fold, her new life as a working royal did not last long, with both Meghan and Harry quitting the Firm in 2020 to move to Montecito in California. Since then, the Duchess of Sussex has been carving her own path by launching podcast series, a business and even striking up deals with streaming giants such as Netflix.
