Former Big Brother star Emma Morgan has issued a warning to viewers ahead of the series’ relaunch. The aesthetics practitioner, 54, found fame on the ITV reality show when it aired last year, and she reached the final, where she placed third behind runner-up Marcello Spooks and winner Ali Bromley, who walked away with the £90,000 prize.
Just hours ahead of the latest edition of the programme – which first aired on Channel 4 in 2000 and brought stars such as Jade Goody, Alison Hammond, and Josie Gibson to national attention amongst a whole host of others – Emma took to Instagram to beg viewers of the show to be considerate with how they react to the new housemates.
In a candid video, she began: “To those of you who may have been living under a rock for the past few days, Big Brother starts tonight so obviously I’m dead excited to watch it, I think most housemates from last year and the previous series will be watching it tonight. And I just wanna say one thing – don’t be nasty about people!”

Emma, who was a glamour model in the 1990s and has also made brief appearances on Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks over the years, reminded fans of the programme that while they might think they are entitled to say what they like about the new housemates, that is not necessarily the case.
She added: “Although they’ve all wanted to come onto TV and people will be like ‘Well, you’re on TV, so you’re allowed to be judged, you’ve got to take it…’
“Don’t be nasty, they’re only people going on there for whatever reason. They’re not going on there so we can all judge them and slag them off! So, if you’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say anything. Enjoy the show!”
In the caption of her post, Emma elaborated on her point where she detailed just how ‘scary’ it was coming out of the house after weeks of being watched by the nation.
She said: “Just a reminder tho that the housemates will be nervous, anxious and a million other emotions. Going into that house was probably the scariest thing I’ve ever done!!! Coming out of the house was just as scary – because that’s when you see people’s reactions to you. I was lucky, I didn’t come out to lots of hate. HOWEVER, some of the housemates did. It’s devastating not only to them, but their families too.
“So please remember to be kind. Not every thought needs to be spoken. Sone things are better left unsaid. That said, I hope you enjoy this season! I’m sure it won’t disappoint!!”
This is the third series of the show to air on ITV2. Previously, Big Brother has also been on Channel 5, and presented by Davina McCall, Emma Willis and Rylan over its sporadic runs. This time, hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, who have been at the helm since the show was revived in 2023, will return to welcome the housemates from across the UK.
In a chat with The Mirror, AJ said she was “excited” to see the new chair and how the rest of the house had changed. “And of course, we’re all excited to see the new diary room chair and how the house has been tweaked. Bigger? Smaller? Who knows! But what’s certain is another dynamic and exciting series.”

Since 2000, strangers from all over the country have descended on the Big Brother house to compete to be crowned the winner of the show. Housemates not only have to survive being locked in a house together, but they must complete tasks and try not to get evicted from the house. ITV has promised viewers new twists and turns, as well as elaborate challenges and live evictions.
Following each episode, there is a spin-off show, Big Brother: Late & Live. This show gives viewers exclusive content from the house, along with fiery debates and hot takes from a celebrity guest panel. This year will also feature an extra week of the show, bringing it up to seven in total.
This year’s edition of Celebrity Big Brother also saw a romance spark on the show. Pop star Jojo Siwa became close friends with Love Islander Chris Hughes, which eventually developed into a relationship. The two are still together and rumoured to be thinking about marriage.
Will Best said he’d be upset if the pair ever broke up. “If Jojo and Chris don’t last, I genuinely don’t know what I’ll do.” Later, he added that he was excited to celebrate 25 years of Big Brother and thought audiences would be too.
“Bring on the housemates, bring on seven weeks, and bring on a happy 25th anniversary to Big Brother! I think [audiences will] be happy about the extra week.
“Last series could easily have gone on longer, so this will be a nice touch. But the exciting thing is, we never really know what’s going to be new. Fans are already buzzing from the trailer and the Big Brother eye reveal.”
