Comedian Jason Manford recently spent the night at a posh hotel in Bristol – but one thing left him feeling riled up.

The 44-year-old visited the city as part of his UK comedy tour, A Manford All Seasons, taking his act on stage at the Bristol Beacon on Saturday night, September 27.

But when he returned to the 4-star Harbour Hotel on Corn Street in the city centre to try and unwind after a busy night, one thing seemingly left the comedian less than impressed.

Taking to Facebook, Jason set off on a rant – about shower gels. As he ran himself a bath to enjoy a nice relaxing soak, he quickly realised the shampoo and bath gels were locked into their holder on the wall, which was nowhere near the bathtub itself.

He told his 1.5 million Facebook followers: “I know this is a first-world problem, but I’m trying to have a bath in my hotel room, but the shower gel and the bath gels are over here, locked in, and it requires an Allen key to get them out. The bath is over there.

“It feels like a hate crime against people who like to have a bath. Is there enough people stealing shower gels and shampoos that they can’t just trust us, or put one of these over there by the bath?”

He concluded the short, one-minute video by saying: “I’ll probably delete this in the morning, but it’s just annoyed me.”

His fans were quick to rush to his support in the comments, with one writing: “This would send me into a psychotic rage to be honest. What do you mean I need an assistant to have a bath?”

Another added: “This is crazy. I would write a review, things will soon get changed. It is more material for your shows.”

And a third commented: “I am certain this would even pi** off the third world.”

However, it seems his post came to the attention of the hotel staff themselves, as Jason followed it up the following morning with a photo of three miniature bottles of shampoo and shower gel being left outside his hotel room door.

He captioned the post: “I think someone at Bristol Harbour Hotel might be following me on my socials! Thank you very much, very thoughtful! #BathGate.”

And other than his bath debacle, Jason seemed to love his time in Bristol, as he shared another post after taking to the stage at Bristol Beacon on Saturday.

He wrote: “Smashing night at Bristol Beacon tonight with local lass Dani Johns as support. Love Bristol, wish I’d come to university here, just seems like a top city with top people!”
