Patrick Bamford looked all set for his next move since leaving Leeds United in August, but Getafe appear to have slowed down their talks to sign the striker.
United took the brutal decision to cast Patrick Bamford out from the first team following promotion back to the Premier League.
Shortly before the window shut, Leeds then agreed to terminate the striker’s contract a year early, seeing him free to move clubs.

Getafe talks slow down for Patrick Bamford despite progress after Leeds United exit
With Bamford free to move clubs, reports claimed that he was closing in on a move to Getafe in La Liga. The Spanish outfit lost Christantus Uche to Crystal Palace, and were unable to replace him sufficiently before the window shut.
It was even suggested that Bamford was ready to fly out to Madrid in order to sign for Getafe, as talks advanced. Sheffield United were also noted as a possible suitor for the former Whites man.

However, Matteo Moretto now shares that Bamford’s proposed move to Getafe has hit a snag as Jose Bordalas’ side deliberate over whether to sign him.

“The possibility of Patrick Bamford signing for Getafe remains on the table.
“Negotiations have slowed down in recent days because Getafe has taken its time to decide whether to close the deal or not, but in the coming days the final decision will be made.”
Bordalas, though, has been very vocal about his side’s lack of striker options, noting this weekend that he’s only got one to choose from.
“What do you think? We have one. I don’t know any professional team that is with a striker. We are with the circumstances that have been there since the beginning of the championship,” Bordalas told Marca.
Options remain open for Patrick Bamford and Getafe after Leeds United exit

Getafe are in no position to waste time when looking at the free agent market for strikers. Bordalas has made it clear he needs more.
However, it’s no shock they’re questioning a move for Bamford going through, given his long-term form and injury issues.
It would be good to see Bamford back playing as soon as possible, because he’s still got a lot to offer at a good level.
